Dr. Stennett H Brooks, retired President of the Northeastern Conference of
Seventh-day Adventist, served the Adventist church for more than forty years. His
service in the Northeastern Conference began in 1959 as an Accountant in the
Adventist Book Center, and the Treasury Department under the leadership of the then
treasurer, the late Elder Frank L. Jones. He subsequently succeeded Elder Jones as
Treasurer, and held that position for more than twenty years.

Following his years of dedicated leadership in the treasury department, Elder Brooks
was elected to the presidency of the Northeastern Conference, a position which he
held for twelve years.  Throughout his years of service, he held membership on several
boards and committees, among which were the Oakwood College, Atlantic Union
College, the Adventist Media Center and Breath of Life.

Elder Brooks was a loyal supporter of the Association of Alumni and Friends of the
Adventist University of Haiti living in the diaspora. He has attended most of our
functions, and as a believer in the important role that an alumni association plays in the
development of a university, he always had for us words of encouragement, which we
desperately needed as we were embarking ourselves in the difficult journey of
establishing an alumni association. He will be missed greatly by  the entire CALUNAH
family.

We wish his family and his friends our sincere condolences.
